Jordan's Bio

Before the standard bio begins, I need to start with the really important stuff---Family and Friends.  I am married to an amazing lady named Wendy and have two wonderful kids, Lindsay and Andrew.  They bring joy to my life everyday and add grace to everything I’m lucky enough to do professionally. My parents, sister, in-laws and extended family offer love and support, terrific gifts indeed.   And my friends, old and trusted and those I’ve yet to meet provide a guy like me with the energy to forge ahead and try my best.

It all makes me lucky and grateful. Now for the more traditional biographical notes…

Jordan Rich was born and raised in Boston and has been a fixture on radio and TV for nearly thirty years.  A communications major at Curry College in Milton, Jordan began his career at age eighteen at WRKO in Boston.  From 1978 to 1982, he worked as weather reporter, morning show sidekick and was eventually promoted to morning co-host.  He even got the chance to host a Broadway music show called, “Music Sunday” for a couple of years.  A high school and college actor who loves the theatre, that program was one of Jordan’s favorite on-air assignments.

In 1982, Jordan signed on with WLLH-AM as a talk-show host and handled the weekend music shift at WSSH-FM.  In early 1983, he was named WSSH morning host and served in that capacity until December 1995. In 1996, Jordan signed on with WBZ News Radio 1030 as a fill-in talk host and eventually succeeded his longtime friend and mentor, the late Norm Nathan.  Since then, Jordan has hosted the weekend late nights at WBZ and his program is heard throughout much of the U.S. and Canada as well as world-wide on the Internet.

His show features a smorgasbord of guests and topics ranging from the arts, history, and health to pop culture, sports and issues of the heart and soul.  He has interviewed hundreds of best selling authors, international film and TV stars, musicians, entertainers, leading health care practitioners and local celebrities.  Most of all though, he loves connecting with his family of listeners and callers from around the nation.   Jordan’s approach is simple--- to be positive and supportive adding a gentle dose of humor and fun throughout the night.

Jordan is committed to working with fine organizations and charities and enjoys a long relationship with The American Lung Association of Massachusetts, The American Cancer Society, Road to Responsibility, The American Heart Association, The March of Dimes to  name a few.  He is most proud of his work working for Children’s Hospital Boston, having raised well over a quarter million dollars to date.

Along with his on-air work, Jordan Rich maintains a full schedule running his audio production and marketing firm Chart Productions, Inc. on the scene since 1980.  He has appeared on hundreds of local and national commercials and narrations for such clients as The Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops, Sullivan Tire, The New England Sports Network and Liberty Mutual.  Jordan and his business partner and number one friend Ken Carberry offer voice-over classes throughout the year and are responsible for having trained dozens of talented performers.  Jordan is often out on the speaking circuit serving as master of ceremonies and auctioneer at dozens of events a year.  (See the section on his inspirational speaking for more)  His hobbies include reading, jazz, movies, writing, crossword puzzles and acting.   Please e-mail Jordan at  Jordan.rich@wbz.com.
